Before the advent of needle-shaped trees, families of reptiles might have dominated the world with cold-blooded biosystems. As the climate got colder, mammals, our ancester, were getting more competitive in natural selection with the hairy skins for warmth against colder environments..

These photos touch upon a favorite subject for me. Much about life itself can be learned if one follows a tree through the changing seasons be it a deciduous or in this case coniferous trees. Like the perspective in these photos Peter.
